El Centro finally!

So Eric left today which proves that the third time is a charm. Eric was scheduled to leave for El Centro, CA on Tuesday (the 1st) along with everyone else but his IP called in sick. So since he didn't leave on Tuesday he had to replan everything along the way (hotel/car in El Paso, TX and all weather reports along the way. Well last night he was told that his IP was Med Down and not allowed to fly so he was switched to fly with the Senior Marine of the wing. He just called and he's in El Paso for the night and him and Major Gallagher were about to head out for dinner and then relax and head out tomorrow to El Centro.
On his way out to El Centro, he'll be doing low level flying and may get to fly really low over the Grand Canyon. While in El Centro they practice dropping bombs, which happen to be a little shotgun shell and smoke to simulate landing.
Since they had this big DET planned out we already attended the Marine Corps Birthday Ball on October 21st. It was surprisingly pretty good (was a little nervous about Meridian standards). We had it downtown at the Temple Theater (http://www.meridiantempletheater.com/) Ballroom and the formal portion was good and to the point. The best part was that there was also a Winging Party happening about 2 blocks away so everyone just transferred there and we were able to hang out with many more people.
Other than the Birthday Ball and Eric's ordeal trying to get to El Centro....not much more is happening around here. It's getting cold and I have to start covering up my vegetables (oh yeah...I planted green beans and cucumbers a while ago and we've already enjoyed the first harvest of the green beans for dinner).
Eric has put in Christmas vacation block and we're looking at the Dec 16th - Dec 27th block. We were also talking about going to New Orleans for New Years but we'll see. The Marine Corps & Flight School is proving that you really can't plan anything.
Oh and that also reminds me, as opposed to taking a cruise we were thinking either New Orleans for a couple days. The cruise was proving to be more difficult because some of the places we would disembark would be in Mexico or Jamaica and sometimes the Marine Corps will not let them visit there. That means he either wouldn't be allowed to get off the ship or not go at all.
Alright! I'm going to start getting ready for bed and hope that the girls will let me sleep tonight. Between Zoe on high alert and Sasha being sad that Eric isin't home...there's no hope for much sleep.
Love you all and can't wait to see everyone soon!!!
OH.....The job is proving to be productive because I only have $1,200 left on my car and it'll be paid off the first week of December!!!!
